Get your messages organized! New features from Disa for Android streamline and organize life, unifying all your messages from different services.
It has been needed for years: a way to simplify life, unifying all your messages from every source into one platform. Disa, for Android, has some major new updates to make that easier than ever, including:
Dynamic interfaces: Dynamic interfaces is a technology that allows the framework API to be continuously updated without the need for the plugin to modified (Facebook, Telegram, etc.).
Export conversations: Users now have the ability to export a conversation to a self-contained HTML webpage (media included). This is an archive they can send via email, or save to their phone’s storage. Upon extracting the ZIP archive, they can open the HTML file and view the conversation’s history in full. This tooling is also excellent for legal documentation.
Plugin Driven: Disa ships with SMS/MMS support. Plugins can then be added along the way to provide additional services. You can visit Disa’s Google+ community to find download links for plugins or simply click “Add Service” for an automatic search of available plugins within the app.
Channels: Users now have the ability to find and subscribe to the channels that interest them, including Telegram channels. The Telegram release timeline is scheduled for between the end of November and the end of December, 2017. The new message has seen a UI upgrade, including two main changes: Expandable FAB to open party link and groups; and a shared link as well as auto-focus on the search field.
Battery Friendly: One app, one process. Disa's technology will manage service connections efficiently to save your battery!
Sending Quotes: It’s simple: Long press on a message bubble, and write a reply to it. When this message is sent, the message that was replied to can be seen in a quote within the message.Users can click the quote to scroll to the original message. Currently only the Telegram service implements this specific feature; in the next few releases it’s expected that other developers will provide plugins and update existing ones for its use on the Disa framework.
Monetization: We plan to keep the app free “for the people”, eventually offering Non-Essential Paid Options both in the B2C and B2B products.
Participation by other companies and developers: Disa is encouraging other companies to participate and make plugins and monetize them on the Disa platform, sharing profit and having access to users with Disa, while also retaining their current users by offering themselves on an organized platform. The company does not intend to close source everything. Disa is a playground for access and profit for everyone.
Mentions: Now you can mention other users in group chats to gain their attention. These mentions can be clicked on, showing a dialog detailing the user. Additionally, mentioning a user will alert them via a notification on their phone, whether that conversation is muted or not.
Bots: With Disa, you can now chat with bots. Bots can generate rich messages (e.g. messages with buttons attached), generate custom keyboards, generate an actionable list, etc. with the user being able interface these extensions. This allows users to use certain bots as personal assistants and as a quality of life improvement vehicle.
Google Drive Backup: Backups can now be restored from and backed up to a Google Drive account. This allows a user to always have their Disa messages, media and settings completely backed-up, and easy to restore in-case their phone gets lost, stolen, or breaks.
Link Preview Support: If you see a link in a message, a preview, consisting of a thumbnail, title, and description, will be shown at the bottom of the message. This enables the user to glance at the content of the link without having to click through to read it.
Conversation theming with bubble and font colors: Each service can now have their message colors customized (background and text color). For example, if a user wants all their bubbles pertaining to the Telegram service to be blue with white text, the user can customize that.
Customize your background colors and images: In the app settings (settings that affect all services and conversations), users can customize the background color and even select an image as the background. This background image or color will be seen in all conversations (app-wide). Future Disa upgrades include the ability to customize each individual conversation in a purchased, advanced user interface package.
Unified Conversations: Talk to the same friend on different services? You can easily merge all their services (Telegram, Text, Facebook, Whatsapp, etc.) into one unified conversation. Conversations you have unified will also auto-switch services depending on the service of the last received message.
Personalized Messages: Messages from services are easily recognized through customizable colors you choose. Services can also be assigned custom vibration patterns, ringtones and LED colors.
Backup and Restore is Easy: Backup your conversations, media gallery and settings to your device or to your Google Drive account.
iOS Version: Disa will be building an iOS version with the next fundraising round.
